Amnesia: The Bunker delayed for a third time

By Sean Carey,

Developer Frictional Games has announced that day one Xbox Game Pass horror title, Amnesia: The Bunker, has been delayed for a third time and will no longer launch in May as planned.

Thankfully, Amnesia: The Bunker's delay is another short one. Frictional Games' Fredrik Olsson revealed that Amnesia: The Bunker, which is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, has been delayed by two weeks and will now launch on June 6th.

Amnesia: The Bunker delayed into June

Confirming the delay on Twitter, Olsson said that Amnesia: The Bunker is "coming together so nicely," but despite this, Frictional "has been forced to take a decision to delay, once again, this time for two weeks. We won't make it May 23rd. Instead, the new launch date will be June 6th.

"We're going through a certification process, and we have encountered multiple, rare crashes that are very difficult to identify, reproduce and thereby also fix, and we simply can't make it the time. The alternative, of course, I guess would have been to ask the team to work weekends or nights, but that's simply not something we do here at Frictional."

The first-person horror game was first down to launch in March, but it was delayed to May 16th due to "a slew of illnesses" affecting the team. Frictional then announced another delay, pushing Amnesia: The Bunker back by a week to May 23rd to "strategically avoid releasing during a busy week."

Amnesia: The Bunker now launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC on June 6th. The first-person horror game will also be available with Xbox Game Pass on day one.
