Xbox Game Pass shooter Atomic Heart delayed to 2023

By Sean Carey,

The chaotic shooter Atomic Heart has been delayed to 2023 and will no longer launch this year as planned, new publisher Focus Entertainment has announced.

Earlier this year, Atomic Heart's release date was narrowed to sometime between September and December. Then, just recently, developer Mundfish said it planned to launch the game in "late 2022." Now, it's been delayed so the team can "deliver a game of the highest quality." Atomic Heart will now launch sometime between January 1st, 2023 and March 20th.

The delay was revealed by Focus Entertainment, who also announced it will now be publishing the game. "Focus Entertainment is thrilled to announce their partnership with video game development studio Mundfish to publish the upcoming Atomic Heart.

"Initially planned for 2022, the hectic and explosive action-RPG is set to release this winter. Polishing and delivering a game of the highest quality is the priority of this talented team, with a specific launch date to be announced shortly."
