Over the past few days, several leaks have sprung about Call of Duty 2023, with Twitter users sharing images and details about weapons and Operators. Activision has been working hard to take down some of these images, but in doing so, it appears that the publisher may have revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is this year's CoD game.

Twitter user BobNetworkUK (thanks, VGC), claims to have received a DMCA strike for an image shared online that references "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III."

In February, Bloomberg reported that an expansion for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was in the works, but it had morphed into a full game with a new campaign and several multiplayer maps.

In a further development, the Call of Duty Twitter account recently posted a poll asking players if Modern Warfare II Operators, weapons, and bundles should carry forward into Call of Duty 2023, with both answers to the poll being yes. This suggests that Call of Duty 2023 could be a direct continuation of the story in last year's game.

In other CoD news, Xbox 360 Call of Duty games have seen a resurgence in players, thanks to a server update, and Sony finally put pen to paper and agreed to a deal with Microsoft to bring Call of Duty to PlayStation consoles for the next ten years should Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard go ahead.
