Original story: The 7.1.0 update arrives today, June 25, for Dead by Daylight, bringing the much-anticipated arrival of new Survivor Nicolas Cage with it, as well as new features, updates to Killer The Onryo, and more.
Behaviour Interactive has already explained how on earth Nicolas Cage ends up in Dead by Daylight, and once he arrives there today, he'll have a range of perks: Dramaturgy, Scene Partner, and Plot Twist. When healthy and running, you can use Dramaturgy to "run with knees high for 0.5 seconds and then gain 25% Haste for two seconds, followed by an unknown effect," says Behaviour Interactive, adding that it also causes temporary exhaustion.

Scene Partner, meanwhile, is for use once in the Killer's Terror Radius — when Nicolas Cage looks at the Killer and then screams, you'll briefly see the Killer's aura. "There is a chance you will scream again, if you do, you will see the Killer's aura for an additional two seconds. Scene Partner then goes on cool-down for 60 seconds." Plot Twist comes into play when you're injured. "Press the ability button two while crouched and motionless to silently enter the dying state. When using Plot Twist to enter the dying state, you leave no blood pools and you make no noise and you can fully recover from the dying state. When you recover by yourself using Plot Twist, you are fully healed instantly and you gain 50% Haste for two/three/four seconds."

The patch notes also detail updates for Killer The Onryo, Perk updates, the removal of "the awkward mindgame when unhooking" Survivors, and more, including the fact that a new Tome (Tome 16: Existence — Level One) opens tomorrow, June 26.

We've seen no sign of achievements for this update so far, but will keep an eye out.

Will you be diving into Dead by Daylight to help out its new survivor? Dead by Daylight had a bit of a fall in our latest Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox games, so hopefully Nicolas Cage will see things turn around.
