EA closing servers of two Xbox 360 classics later this year

EA is closing the servers of Xbox 360 classics Dead Space 2 and Dante's Inferno later this year, and discontinuing ten achievements in the process.

Servers for both Dead Space 2 and Dante's Inferno will be shut down on December 8, 2023, according to EA's Online Services Shutdown page.

Dead Space 2 server closure

For Dead Space 2, there aren't any online achievements that you need to worry about — all achievements here should remain unlockable once the server closure hits and its multiplayer mode goes dark — but for Dante's Inferno, there are ten online achievements linked to Trials of St. Lucia DLC expansion that you'll want to unlock before they're gone for good.

According to estimates, unlocking all ten of the Trials of St. Lucia achievements will take between 15 and 20 hours. The It's in the Trial achievement, which looks to be a bit of a pain to unlock, requires you to beat 25 different single-player and 15 different two-player trials. If you need to pop this achievement, we recommend either setting up or joining a Dante's Inferno Gaming Session to work through the trials with another TA member.

Both games are backwards compatible and can be played with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play.

Do you need those ten Dante's Inferno achievements? Let us know down in the comments!
