By Sean Carey,

Gameloft's upcoming free-to-play kart racing game Disney Speedstorm has been delayed into 2023 and will no longer launch this year as initially planned.

Disney Speedstorm is a free-to-play kart racer that features a large roster of Disney characters, each with their one unique set of skills. The game was originally supposed to launch this year, but Gameloft has now announced a delay, pushing back Disney Speedstorm into 2023.

Disney Speedstorm delayed

In a statement posted on Twitter, Gameloft said, "We have been working diligently to craft an amazing racing experience for Disney Speedstorm, capturing our vision of the exciting magic fans enjoy in their favourite Disney and Pixar characters and games.

"With this in mind and after careful consideration, we have decided to delay the  worldwide release of Disney Speedstorm to meet our expectations and provide players with a more immersive racing experience, customization offerings, game modes and more. Fans are invited to join us on the speedway when Disney Speedstorm launches in 2023 on PC and consoles."

Gameloft says it will be sharing regular updates on Disney Speedstorm over the next few weeks. As for Gameloft's other Disney game, Disney Dreamlight Valley, it appears that Stitch could be on his way to the life sim.
