EA closing servers for multiple FIFA games in 2023

By Sean Carey,

EA has announced it's shuttering online services for more legacy sports titles. Servers for several FIFA titles will close early next year.

As per EA's online services page, online servers for FIFA 16 and FIFA 17 will close across both Xbox One and Xbox 360 on February 14th, 2023. Servers for FIFA 18 and FIFA 19 on Xbox 360 will also be shut down on February 14th — Xbox One servers for FIFA 18 and FIFA 19 will remain unaffected.

Servers closing for numerous legacy FIFA games early next year

Of course, the server closure announcement means dozens of achievements will be discontinued. It looks like all online achievements in FIFA 16 (Xbox 360) have already been discontinued, but for FIFA 16, FIFA 17, FIFA 17 (Xbox 360), FIFA 18 (Xbox 360, and FIFA 19 (Xbox 360) there are numerous online achievements you may want to grab before the server closure hits.

All of these games have also been delisted from the Xbox store, so if you want to complete them, you'll need to pick up physical copies.

EA also recently announced it was closing online services for EA Sports UFC 2, which also has a closure date in February.

Last year's FIFA is currently available in EA Play. If you're a subscriber and you're looking for a decent game to play in the service, give our best EA Play games article a look.

Will you be returning to grab any of these legacy FIFA titles for the achievements? Let us know!

Thanks to lor for the heads-up!
