During Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Las Vegas this weekend, CEO of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer joined Square Enix producer and director Naoki Yoshida on stage to announce that Final Fantasy XIV Online will launch on Xbox Series X|S in Spring 2024.
Final Fantasy XIV Online Xbox Series X|S announcement
The fourteenth mainline entry in the series, Final Fantasy XIV Online is a MMORPG with a player base of 27 million strong, and as a standalone game, doesn't require any knowledge of the series to enjoy its plethora of quests, deadly encounters, and epic boss battles. While playing with others is part of the experience, Final Fantasy XIV Online features a Duty Support system designed to give you a party of NPC allies so you can go it alone.
In Final Fantasy XIV Online, you set out on an adventure in Eorzea within the world of Hydaelyn. With our own customizable Warrior of Light, you'll explore huge cities, arid desert landscapes, and lush forests as you attempt to save Eorzea from an eternity of darkness. While fighting the forces of darkness is your main objective, a host of activities are also available, such as house buying, mini-games, mahjong, crafting, and more.
Final Fantasy XIV Online is expected to launch on Xbox Series X|S in Spring 2024. It'll arrive as a beta initially, offering players on Xbox Series X a chance to explore the world in 4K. It's a premium game, but it'll include the Final Fantasy XIV Online Expanded Free Trial at launch, offering you unrestricted access to the Realm Reborn content, the Stormblood and Heavensward expansions, and character progression up to level 70.
We've still got plenty of time to kill until Final Fantasy XIV Online arrives on Xbox, so if you're looking for an adventure to embark on while you wait, why not check out some of the best MMO games on Xbox?
