Site feature: Follow related topics from within news stories By Rich Stone, 13 Mar 2022 FollowtopicsSite FeatureCommunity NewsRich Stone We publish a lot of news stories (over 3,000 in 2021), and making sure you don't miss articles that are important to you can be difficult. That changes today. We already had ways to subscribe to news categories and games, but they weren't very consistent and were quite difficult to find.Introducing the Follow Topics buttonNow, when you go to a news story, we'll show a list of topics related to the news story in the Follow Topics button. If the story is about a single game, we'll show various topics related to the game:The game itselfThe series the game is fromThe publisher of the gameThe developer of the gameThe first genre from the gameThe author of the storyAny other key information we think you might want to follow (Game Pass, Multiplayer, etc.)There's some reasonably complicated logic going on behind the scenes to make this list, and we'll be working on improving this logic to handle multiple games in a story in the coming weeks. If you want to subscribe to a topic, just click on it. If you are already subscribed to that topic, the bell next to the topic will be filled, and you can also un-follow the topic by clicking again. When a news story is next published that matches one of your followed topics, you'll get a notification with a blue dot in your gamer menu:Click the notification to view the story. You can also unfollow or follow more topics directly from within the notification by clicking the three dots. Why not follow Site Feature from this story so you never miss a feature update again?Site FeatureCommunity News Written by Rich StoneYo! Rich here - I was the one that created TrueAchievements back in 2008 as I felt the Xbox Gamerscore system could be improved. The site has evolved massively since then and it's now the biggest and best Xbox community on the planet! Racing games and open world shooters are my thing, but I'll give most genres a go. Except RPGs - those things are evil.
