By Sean Carey,

Gun Interactive has announced that asymmetrical multiplayer title Friday the 13th: The Game will be delisted from the Xbox store later this year and that a server closure has also been scheduled.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Gun announced that its licenses for Friday the 13th will expire on December 31, 2023, and that the game will be delisted from digital storefronts. Gun also confirmed that servers for the game will close on December 31, 2024, which does give you a decent amount of time to grind out the Friday the 13th: The Game achievements.

Friday the 13th: The Game server closure

"The time has come. Our license for Friday the 13th will expire on December 31, 2023," Gun said. "On that date, Friday the 13th: The Game will no longer be available for sale, both physically and digitally. The game will, however, continue to function through at least December 31, 2024, if you already own it."

Gun has reduced the price of the base game to $4.99 and the cost of DLC packs to just $0.99. "We will continue to offer the title and content at that price point right up until it is removed from digital/physical storefronts on December 31, 2023," the developer said.

"We would like to thank our community for the dedication they've shown to Friday the 13th: The Game and Gun Interactive asa while, and we are happy the game will live on a while longer and continue to be enjoyed by anyone owning the game already."

If you are yet to start Friday the 13th: The Game, you're in for quite the grind. According to estimates, a completion will take between 150 and 200 hours. Luckily, you've got a fair bit of time to grind out the list before servers close on December 31, 2024.

Thanks to ManicMetalhead for the heads-up!
