Immortals of Aveum delayed to August

By Sean Carey,

Ascendant Studios and EA have delayed Immortals of Aveum, meaning the first-person shooter will no longer launch in July as originally planned.

Instead of launching on July 20, Immortals of Aveum now has a new August 22 release date. According to game director Bret Robbins, Ascendant Studios needs more time to realize its full vision and further polish the game.

In a statement posted on Ascendant Studios' website, Robbins thanked fans for their positive reactions to the game and noted the challenges of working through the pandemic, building a new team, and developing on Unreal Engine 5.1. However, Robbins says that the "recent feedback to the game proves to us what we already felt: that Immortals of Aveum is something special," and in order to realize the studio's full vision, it is delaying Immortals of Aveum to August 22.

"This will give us time to further polish the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and deliver a strong launch. We owe it to ourselves and to you to get this right," Robbins said.
