What is Genre Bingo?

In TrueAchievements Genre Bingo, just like traditional Bingo, we give you a 5 by 5 grid of squares, with the center square being a "free" space. Your goal is to try to complete bingo lines, either vertical, horizontal, or diagonal, and if possible - complete the entire grid!

However, this being a TrueAchievements Community Event, there's no machine picking out numbered balls for you.

We're playing for game genres, and to daub your squares you need to unlock achievements in games with those genres.

So get on over to the TrueAchievements Genre Bingo hub and start playing now!

How does TA Genre Bingo work?

When you join the event we will generate you a random 5 by 5 grid, with each square assigned a popular genre. To mark your squares off, just unlock an achievement from a game with the same genre applied.

It's worth noting that games on site have multiple genres. We will use the first matching genre (based on the order on game pages) that you haven't unlocked yet to daub the squares.

For example, if you had Simulation Racing and Open World squares on your grid, you could use Forza Horizon 5. The first achievement earned in this game would daub Simulation Racing, and the next would daub Open World.

Bingo grid

When you do successfully daub a square we mark it off with the game the achievement was from and update an activity feed next to the grid - we even post any bingos on your friend feed!

If you need help figuring out what games are applicable for which squares, just click on the square and we will take you to your games list filtered by genre. Just make sure to double check the game page for the genre orders to make sure you're daubing the square you intend to!

Sharing your progress

If you post the link to your progress page (accessible from the Bingo panel on your profile page, or the tab with your gamertag on it on the event hub) to Discord or Twitter (or whatever it's called today), we'll generate a dynamic image of your progress in the event. It's super cool and we are very proud of this, so please try it!

TA Genre Bingo Badge

Anyone that manages to get at least one Bingo (a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line) will be awarded a community challenge badge.

And for the more competitive amongst you, there's also a leaderboard that is ordered by those with the most Bingos and unlocks on their card!
