Managing Your Friends List on TrueAchievements

By Dave Horobin,
Following on from our last site help story where we showed you how to import your Xbox Live friends list into TrueAchievements, this time around we're going to take a look at how you can manage and organise your friends list here on TA.

Managing Your TA Friends

How to View and Manage Your Friends List on TA

  • Click the My Friends link in the Social & Content section of the Gamer Menu
At the top of the My Friends page are three options:
  • Friend Group: Filter your friends by the friend group they are in (Will only have Friends and * Unhandled Invites * if you haven't created any additional groups)
  • Edit Friends Groups and Settings: Create and/or friend groups
  • Add GamerTag: Quickly send a new friend request
Below you will see a list of all your friends at the top of the table, with any unhandled friend requests at the bottom. For each friend you'll be able to view some of their key information:
  • Their region (if they've set one)
  • Gamertag
  • Their latest status update (if they've entered one)
  • TA Score
  • Gamerscore
  • The friend group they have been assigned to
  • The remove from my friends icon
At the bottom of the list, you will see any unhandled invites. You can click the Friend Request Received link in the friend group column of the list to accept or decline a friend request that you have received.

You can cancel any friend requests that you have sent by clicking .

Please note: There is no limit to the number of friends you can have on TrueAchievements, but there is a limit of 250 that can be shown on your friend feed's normal view.

Friend Groups

By default, you will only have one group called "Friends" created. Any new friends you add on TrueAchievements will automatically be added to the "Friends" group, and all friends will be shown on your friend feed and appear in the "My Friends" panel on your homepage. As you add more friends on TrueAchievements, creating additional friend groups allows you to organise groups of friends into smaller and easier to manage categories. Each friend group also includes a settings page, giving you the option to personalise how and where they appear on your homepage.

Please note: You must have at least one friend group, and can create a maximum of five.

Managing Your Friend Groups

  • Click the My Friends link in the Social & Content section of the Gamer Menu
  • Click the Friend Groups tab or the Edit Friends Groups and Settings button on the My Friends page
The page will list all of your current friend groups. If you have less than five friend groups, you can create a new one by clicking on the Add button, or edit an existing group's settings by clicking on the group's name from the list. Here you will see four options:
  • Group Name
  • Public group: Untick to make this a private group that only you can see
  • On friend feed: Untick to hide group from your default friend feed view
  • X1 app friend feed: Untick to hide group from the feed view on our Xbox One app
  • Click the Save or Cancel button to return to the list of your created friend groups.

You can delete any unwanted groups by clicking the icon.

Assigning Friends to Different Friend Groups

Once you have your different friend groups created, you can move your friends between the different groups by visiting the My Friends page and selecting the name of the group to which you wish to move them by using the dropdown list in the "Friend Group" column.

Viewing Different Friend Groups on Your Friend Feed

By default, your friend feed will display items from all of your friend groups that have the "On friend feed" option ticked. You can quickly filter your friend feed to show items from a single group or just your own items by clicking on the "Friend Feed" button and clicking on the "Normal view" dropdown.
