Missing Gamerscore? Don't Panic!

Over the past couple of weeks, we've had a number of forum posts and messages from people who have noticed that a large amount of their Gamerscore total (sometimes in the tens of thousands) has suddenly gone missing. For anyone who has invested a large amount of time and money in their Gamerscore, this is obviously quite alarming, so we decided to reach out to our friends at Microsoft to see if they can explain why it happens and if there is any way to fix it again.

Why is My Gamerscore Missing?

Our contact couldn't go into too much depth about the reason behind Gamerscore going missing, but there is an error when the Gamerscore total is updated after an achievement unlock, which then causes the Gamerscore total to be updated incorrectly.

Will My Gamerscore Come Back?

In short, the answer is yes, but you will have to be patient. From the cases we've seen in our forums, the situation normally fixes itself within a couple of days, and our contact was keen to stress that there is no need to panic.

We're aware of the issue and working on a fix that we expect to come soon. You do not need to worry — your Gamerscore is safe and is corrected shortly after as part of our checks and balances for these types of situations.
