Popular Xbox games — December 12th, 2022

Our latest Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox games shows Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga soaring straight back into the top ten, with more reappearances and new showings further down the chart.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Fortnite are still secure in first and second place, but Overwatch 2 has managed to climb back into third, booting Minecraft down to fourth. A little further down, we see Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga re-joining the chart at eighth after joining Xbox Game Pass. Just below, Destiny 2 has hopped back into the top ten after the start of its new Season of the Seraph, while Forza Horizon 5 has dropped out of the top ten to 11th. Battlefield 2042 has also suffered a drop, falling five places to 15th. A little further down we see another reappearance, with Disney Dreamlight Valley, which is available in Game Preview via Xbox Game Pass, back at 19th after the arrival of its biggest content update yet.

Elden Ring has seen a massive jump from 32nd to 20th after its free Colosseum update added new PvP modes. After a small wave of games dropping down to 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, we see Halo: The Master Chief Collection hop up six places to 25th — Halo MCC features on our list of the best games on Game Pass, but be warned; it also sits on the list of the hardest and longest Game Pass games. Just below, Hello Neighbor 2 makes its first appearance in the chart at 27th after launching into Xbox Game Pass. Vampire Survivors has fallen four places to 28th, but further down the chart we see another reappearance with State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition at 33rd after featuring in December's Game Pass Quests. Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which also features in those latest Game Pass Quests, has also managed to climb back into the top 40, reaching 35th. It's not such great news for Need for Speed Unbound, however, which has dropped 14 places to 36th. Cyberpunk 2077 has also fallen, dropping four places to 38th, but it's likely we'll see this one rise back up when its Phantom Liberty expansion arrives. After Ark: Survival Evolved at 39th, we have this week's last reappearance, with Fallout 76 at 40th. This week's disappearances are The Callisto Protocol, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Madden NFL 22, Midnight Fight Express, Two Point Campus, and Marvel's Avengers.
