Popular Xbox games — December 19th, 2022

Our latest Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox games sees High On Life taking Fortnite's spot in the top three, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition breaks into the top 15.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II still sits in first place, but High On Life has exploded into our latest Gameplay Chart, shooting straight into second place and pushing Fortnite down to third. Grand Theft Auto V moves up to fourth, switching places with Minecraft, while Overwatch 2 has dropped out of the top five and sits this week at sixth. There's a fair amount of reshuffling to make room for High On Life's arrival, but there aren't any more major changes until we come to 15th, where The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition makes its first appearance after the arrival of the Xbox Series X|S upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, while just below, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has fallen eight spots to 16th. FIFA 22 manages to hold on at 17th, but then we've got a little knot of games falling down the chart until 23rd, where Red Dead Redemption 2 has moved up one spot, and 24th, where Deathloop has reappeared after being included in the latest Game Pass Quests — You Suck at Parking was also included in those Quests, which most likely explains its reappearance at 26th.

Sea of Thieves has bobbed up two spots to 27th while Vampire Survivors remains set at 28th, but then there's another small flurry of games falling down the chart, broken up only by EA Sports UFC 4 jumping up at 33rd, until we get two more reappearances: PUBG: Battlegrounds at 35th and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which just had a free play weekend, at 36th. Then we have Black Ops Cold War, which has fallen five spots to 37th, Ark: Survival Evolved at 38th, Cyberpunk 2077 at 39th and, at 40th, our last reappearance with Madden NFL 22. This week's disappearances are Fallout 76, Warframe, Need for Speed Unbound, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, Hello Neighbor 2, and Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Looking ahead, there is a very small amount of 2022 left, although we should still be due one more wave of Game Pass December additions. How long do you think High On Life will stay in the top three?
