Popular Xbox games — February 20th, 2023

Our latest Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox games shows Hogwarts Legacy breaking into the top three while GoldenEye 007 drops out of the top 20 — check out the full list here!

This is usually the part where we'd say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Fortnite, and Minecraft remain unmoved in first, second, and third, but not today; for the first time in a while, a newer game has disrupted the top three's lineup with Hogwarts Legacy now sitting at third, having pushed Minecraft down to fourth. We recently discussed how Hogwarts Legacy is a rare win for pure single-player games, with its success so far on our Xbox Gameplay Chart. Grand Theft Auto V is hanging on at fifth, but Apex Legends has managed to jump up from tenth to sixth, booting FIFA 23 down to seventh, and followed by Rocket League, Overwatch 2, and Roblox. There's a fair bit of reshuffling up and down the chart before we get to Hot Wheels Unleashed at 17th, where it has fallen from its spot at 12th last week — presumably as Game Pass players move onto something else. Likewise, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has also dropped this week from 16th to 18th, while Monster Hunter Rise has fallen from 19th to 21st, and GoldenEye 007 has dropped from 20th to 27th. Just below, Coffee Talk and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord make their first appearances at 28th and 29th respectively: the first recently appeared in both our lists of the easiest and fastest PC Game Pass completions and the easiest and fastest Xbox Game Pass completions, while the second joined Game Pass just last week.

Game Pass continues to have a massive affect on the chart, with recent addition Hi-Fi Rush seeing a sizeable drop, falling ten places from 21st to 31st while just below, we see Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition making its debut appearance at 33rd after joining Game Pass last week. The Sims 4, meanwhile, is back in the chart at 35th after being included in the latest weekly Game Pass Quests while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has just managed to climb back into the top 40.

Looking ahead, we have a load of games coming to Game Pass which will likely have a big impact on the chart, such as major upcoming addition Atomic Heart. There are also other major upcoming releases such as Like a Dragon: Ishin later this month and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty in March to look forward to. What do you think will make it to the top ten next?
