Popular Xbox games — June 4, 2023

By Sean Carey,

In this week's Xbox Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox Games, Diablo 4 has seen roaring success with its early access release, and Redfall has dropped out of the top 40 entirely.

At the top of the table, things are looking a bit stale. Not much has changed with the top ten most popular Xbox games, other than Rainbow Six Siege and Roblock moving up the table, forcing Rocket League and Apex Legends down.

The really interesting story is happening just outside of the top ten. Diablo 4, which launched early on June 1/June 2 for those who stumped up the cash for the pricey Ultimate and Digital Deluxe Editions, has debuted in our Xbox Gameplay chart in 12th position, which is damn impressive. We will likely see Diablo 4 disrupt the top ten in our chart next week when Blizzard's action-RPG releases for all players on June 6. Elsewhere in the top 20, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, which joined Xbox Game Pass last week, has also made its Xbox Gameplay Chart debut in 16th place.

As we move on down the table, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has taken a somewhat expected beating, dropping by seven places into 23rd. EA and Respawn released a bunch of interesting stats about Cal Kestis' latest outing, which revealed that not many players had found Cal's iconic poncho.

Towards the bottom, we see a bunch of re-entries. Shadow Warrior 3 is back in the table, thanks to Xbox Game Pass Quests, while For Honor, Ark: Survival Evolved, Elden Ring, and Skyrim Special Edition have all also managed to wriggle their way back into the top 40.

Sadly, just a month after its release, the big Xbox exclusive Redfall has now officially dropped out of the top 40 most popular Xbox games. According to our data, Redfall has lost around 90% of its players since its launch on May 2 and now sits out of the top 40 in 45th place.

Next week, we will likely see Diablo 4 climb higher up the table and into the top ten, Amnesia: The Bunker, which launches into Xbox Game Pass on day one, should also feature.
