Popular Xbox games — November 7th, 2022

Our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox games sees Modern Warfare II still holding the top spot over Fortnite and Overwatch 2, while older titles reappear further down in the chart.

It's rare to see Fortnite knocked off the top spot, but while it's managed to climb above Overwatch 2, it still hasn't reclaimed first place from Modern Warfare II. It's a quieter chart this week, with most of the top 20 made up of reshuffling as games switch places and jostle for the best spot. Grounded — which Xbox Game Studio boss Matt Booty recently confirmed has reached over 13 million players — has fallen two spaces to 17th this week. Just below, State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition has reappeared in the chart at 19th after it was included in the latest Xbox Game Pass Quests. Gunfire Reborn has leapt up seven places to 20th, presumably as more players pick it up since its launch into Xbox Game Pass at the end of October. A Plague Tale: Requiem, on the other hand, has fallen seven places to 24th, perhaps as players move on to something else. In case you missed it, you can check out Sean's A Plague Tale: Requiem review to see what he thought. Persona 5 Royal has also taken a bit of a tumble this week, dropping five spaces to 25th. Just below, Cooking Simulator re-joins the chart at 27th — it too was included with the latest Xbox Game Pass Weekly Quests.

Last month, we found out that Chivalry 2 had picked up an extra 500,000 Xbox players thanks to Game Pass — some of these must have put it back down again, as Chivalry 2 has fallen six places to 28th. Lower down, we have this week's other two reappearances: For Honor at 33rd after it was included in November's Xbox Game Pass Quests, and Ark: Survival Evolved at 38th. Finally, Gotham Knights is just clinging on to the top 40 at 40th, despite launching less than three weeks ago. This week's disappearances are The Sims 4, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Garden Story, and 7 Ways to Die.
