LumbearJack tells the story of a bear who has a severe misunderstanding of what a lumberjack is, because instead of chopping wood, he chops the corruption of our human industry.

The game has a singular, all encompassing mechanic: Press A to CHOP. A simple yet satisfying button every single time. Each level will take your bear to a new site run by the sinister Evil Industries who’ve been harassing you and your animal friends for long enough!

The challenge is figuring out in what order you need to chop, as you chop you’ll collect some recycled materials and when you gather enough you can craft a bigger and better axe for bigger and better Chops, until finally you can chop the biggest machine in site and return the land to its natural splendour.

Each level introduces enough unique mechanics like solving crane puzzles or playing golf with bombs that over the games short runtime things never get too repetitive, and along with the games cute artstyle and silly little cutscenes LumbearJack remains charming and light throughout its entire run.

If I have any complaint to make it’s a minor one, since the same short musical track plays during every cutscene it can start to get irritating very quickly, but given that this game was made by a small team that's a minor complaint overall, in general the game is very well put together with no major bugs and very fluid camera and game controls.

LumbearJack is a grizzly tale of animalistic revenge and an escapist fantasy of solving pollution with a cute bear wearing a hat. Bear with me, I’ll put a paws on the bear puns. LumbearJack is short, sweet, and well worth your time.
