Street Fighter 6 combos from free demo into open beta, coming next week

By Heidi Nicholas,

Street Fighter 6 fans can soon try out an open beta of the game on Xbox Series X|S ahead of its full launch in June, with Capcom "expecting a great number of players to register."

Street Fighter 6 launches in full on June 2nd, but you'll be able to try it out much sooner when its open beta goes live on May 19th, featuring eight characters, online crossplay, and more.

Street Fighter 6 open beta begins May 19th

The Street Fighter 6 open beta begins on May 19th and runs until May 21st, with pre-download to start on May 16th. The open beta will have the same content as the closed beta from December 2022: character creation, ranked matches, battle hub matches, extreme battles, challenges, eight playable characters (Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, and Ken), and more, with Capcom adding, "The release version will be further adjusted and will feature updated character balance, etc. We ask for your understanding."

You'll need to register a Capcom ID and link your platform of choice, and you'll need 25GB minimum of storage space on your Xbox Series X|S.

Street Fighter 6 will launch on June 2nd, and Capcom already has a high sales target in mind.
