While Devolver's showcase was filled with a number of awesome little surprises (Cult of the Lamb release date!), arguably, The Plucky Squire stole the show with its wonderful trailer that starts off as a 2D storybook adventure before the pluckiest of little squires jumps off the page into a delightful 3D world for some platforming fun.The Plucky Squire announcement trailerSeriously, how good does that look? In The Plucky Squire, we play as Jot, who, along with his friends, soon learn that there is a 3D world outside the pages of their book. However, the evil Humgrump also discovers what's outside and kicks Jot out of the book and changes the story forever. We will jump between both 2D and 3D worlds, box badgers, fly with a jetpack, solve puzzles, and complete challenges to defeat Humgrump's forces and restore the book's happy ending. The Plucky Squire is being developed by Jonathan Biddle (The Swords of Ditto) and former Game Freak artist James Turner (Pokémon Sword and Shield), who have recently formed the studio All Possible Futures. The Plucky Squire is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2023. What do you think of this one?
