How to unlock the Thousand Edge achievement

Evolving weapons happen by combining a max level weapon with any level of a specific secondary support item. Once you have both of those items you must then kill an Elite enemy and open the chest that it drops. The combinations for the Knife is the following:

Thousand Edge – Knife + Bracer

Knife is unlocked by default and Bracer is unlocked by getting King Bible to Level 4.

But how does evolving them work.. Nobody seems to explain this, i probably could have done this 50 times or more already, not for knowing.

I have a brief explanation in the first part of my solution. One additional comment is that often times evolutions don’t occur until the timer goes over 10 minutes. Elite enemies are the, usually, larger mobs that have way more health than normal ones. Good luck!
