South African regulator approves Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard

As reported by Windows Central, the Competition Tribunal of South Africa has said that while Call of Duty is popular, it's not the most popular game, so it has no concerns that Microsoft's Activision Blizzard acquisition would go against any existing South African anti-competition laws. It seems that the various deals Microsoft has made with the likes of Nvidia, Boosteroid, and other cloud gaming services have been helpful.

While South Africa's approval adds to the list of regulators that are happy with the Activision Blizzard deal, Microsoft still needs to gain the approval of US regulator, the FTC, and the UK's CMA, which has recently attempted and failed to delay the late July hearing regarding Microsoft's appeal of the CMA's decision to block the deal.
