Following last month's leak, Microsoft has now unveiled its latest special edition Xbox Series X|S controller, the Stormcloud Vapor. It's a standard, but admittedly eye-catching, Xbox Wireless Controller, so expect all of the bells and whistles, such as the share button, rubberized grips, and the like to make an appearance.
On top of getting the controller itself, however, players who purchase the Stormcloud Vapor will also receive a unique dynamic background featuring the same design, which you can see below, so you can double dip with Stormcloud goodness. Pre-orders are now live with a price tag of $69.99, and the Xbox Wire announcement says the controller is expected to launch on August 8.
Original Story
Last month players were treated to the limited edition Starfield Xbox Series X|S controller and Xbox Wireless Headset. Now it looks like another controller is on the horizon, as a dataminer has reportedly found the release date for a controller called Stormcloud Vapor.
A new "Stormcloud Vapor" Xbox Series X|S controller is reportedly on the way
According to reputable dataminer Bilbil-kun on Dealabs, Microsoft has another Xbox Series X|S controller on the way. What it looks like is currently unknown, but according to the report, it's called Stormcloud Vapor — internally codenamed Jamez.
Stormcloud Vapor is reportedly expected to release on August 8, so with just over two weeks to go, we'd expect Microsoft to announce the peripheral soon. Similar to other limited edition Xbox Series X|S controller variants, the dataminer says that the Stormcloud Vapor has a price tag of $69.99 / €69.99. As with all leaks, however, we'd advise you to take this report with a pinch of salt until Microsoft officially reveals the controller.
In other Xbox Series X|S controller news, Microsoft is currently running a giveaway for the "world's first" pizza-scented Xbox controllers. Who needs haptic feedback when you can salivate over the sweet smell of pizza — it must be pineapple pizza, right? Cowabunga!
